GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Washes and dries dishes, transports for banquets, gathers china, glass, and silver for inventory. This position serves as a trainer. Trainers are responsible for supervising the learning experiences of students in all areas of The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, The Kirkwood Center for Hospitality Arts and The Kirkwood Center for Continuing Education. Lead- regardless of title, through positive influence. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand. Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas. Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition. Stock supplies such as utensils and plates in serving stations, cupboards, and racks.Sweep and scrub floors as well as clean garbage cans with soap & water. Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas. Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.Regular and consistent attendance at work.Perform other related work duties as assigned. Ensures proper cleaning of dishes, pots, and pans; cleans dish machine before and after each shift. Maintains workstation in an orderly manner. Assists with control of wasted chemicals. Assists with the limitation of breakage of equipment. Ensures that kettles and sinks are cleaned before and after each shift. Mops, sweeps and scrubs kitchen floors and walls on a daily basis. Disposes of all kitchen trash; sanitizes all trashcans and kitchen mats. Assists the Chef with banquet dining dish outs.
