Looking for a Kitchen Manager with Pitmaster experience for a very popular and scratch food restaurant. Texas BBQ experience preferred. This company has a great culture and put their people first. An opportunity to work under amazing leadership! Great pay!
Pitmaster Responsibilities:
- Manage & supervise the flow of all proteins from procurement to plating
- Ensure highest quality by keen attention to detail of all aspects of Pit, including the work of others who handle proteins
- Develop seasonal and special occasion special menus & new recipes
- Care for the Smoker to ensure proper functioning, including repairs & maintenance
- Train/cross-train all kitchen employees to ensure that the high quality we are known for continues to be honored
General Management Responsibilities:
- Kitchen Schedule
- Train all employees (new & old)
- Handle Hiring/Firing/Discipline
- Order Supervision
- Prep Supervision
- Cleanliness
- Management of all Kitchen Staff
- Ensure that FOH employees are adequately educated on the products, process and menu to make sales, help answer customer questions and ensure safety for guests with dietary needs
Qualifications
- 3+ years Kitchen Management experience in BBQ or similar operation
- 3+ years of chef/cooking experience in barbecue, pit, or culinary operations
- Deep knowledge of smoking meats, wood selection, fire control, and protein preparation.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to food safety, quality, and consistency.
- Ability to work early mornings, long shifts, and weekends as needed.
- Current food handler's certification (or ability to obtain).
- Conversational Spanish strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working around heat, smoke, and outdoor conditions for extended periods.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move continuously during long shifts.
