We're looking for a Head Chef who takes pride in their craft and enjoys leading a team in a fast-paced, service-focused kitchen. This role plays an important part in shaping the daily experience of our residents through quality meals and a positive, team-centered kitchen environment.
Position Details for Head Chef- Full Time - 40 hours/week
- Includes every other weekend
- Combination of early and evening shifts
- $26.35 - $28.50/hour
- +$1.00/hour evening shift differential
- +$1.25/hour weekend shift differential

What You'll Do- Prepare meals according to recipes and standards, ensuring quality, consistency, and proper portioning
- Adjust meals to meet therapeutic and specialized dietary needs
- Lead and support kitchen team members during daily operations and meal service
- Help train and onboard new kitchen staff while promoting a positive team environment
- Interact with residents respectfully and help create a dining experience they enjoy
- Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Support menu planning, special events, and overall kitchen operations
- Four (4) years of experience in large-quantity food production
- Ability to lead and build a team in alignment with Fairmount's Core Values and Dining Director expectations
- A genuine desire to serve others and be part of a mission-driven team
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
- Clear communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification required or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
