Dishwasher/Kitchen Aide

The Kitchen Dishwasher/Kitchen Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring that all kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces are clean and sanitized according to food safety standards. This position is essential for maintaining a safe and efficient working environment in our cannabis kitchen.

Essential Job Duties

Dishwashing and Sanitation:

• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
• Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to food safety standards.
• Handle and store cleaned items properly to prevent contamination.

Kitchen Maintenance:

• Assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and maintain cleanliness in kitchen storage areas.
• Assist kitchen staff with organizing and storing clean dishes and equipment.

Compliance and Safety:

• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handwashing techniques and personal hygiene practices.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the kitchen.
• Report any maintenance or safety concerns to kitchen management promptly.

Team Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to coordinate tasks and prioritize workload.
• Assist with other kitchen duties as needed, including food preparation, packaging, and storage.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working as a dishwasher or in a kitchen environment is preferred.
• Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.

Required Skills/Abilities & Education/Experience:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Works well under pressure and deadlines; ability to multitask.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate staff.
• Excellent customer service abilities.
• Ability to develop and maintain budgets.
• Thorough understanding of company policies and practices.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• At least one year of retail experience is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking throughout the facility.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
