Position Summary
The Sous Chef supports the Executive Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and service. This individual will play a key leadership role in managing kitchen staff, executing events, and maintaining a positive team culture.
Essential Responsibilities
Assist in managing daily kitchen operations
Lead by example during food preparation, service, and special events
Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff
Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and portion control
Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department standards
Assist with ordering, inventory management, and cost control initiatives
Support the execution of banquets, weddings, golf tournaments, and special events
Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented kitchen environment
Qualifications
Previous Sous Chef experience preferred, or strong Lead Line Cook experience with demonstrated leadership ability
Strong culinary fundamentals, knife skills, and cooking techniques
Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Culinary degree preferred but not required; equivalent experience will be considered
