Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead all culinary operations within a large upscale senior living community that provides Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation, and Healthcare services.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing food production, kitchen operations, food safety compliance, inventory management, budgeting, employee development, and dining excellence across multiple levels of care. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in senior living, long-term care, healthcare dining services, or hospitality environments where dietary restrictions, regulatory compliance, and high-volume food production are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all kitchen operations and food production activities.
- Manage purchasing, food inventory, supplies, and kitchen equipment while maintaining budget objectives.
- Supervise cooks, prep staff, and kitchen personnel to ensure consistent meal preparation and presentation.
- Lead, mentor, train, and develop a dining services team of approximately 45 team members.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and healthcare regulations.
- Develop production plans and ensure accurate execution of recipes and menu standards.
- Support dining operations serving residents across Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Healthcare settings.
- Monitor labor costs, food costs, productivity, and operational efficiencies.
- Participate in inspections, audits, and AHCA survey preparation activities.
- Foster a positive culture focused on quality, resident satisfaction, teamwork, and accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Long-term care, healthcare, or senior living culinary leadership experience required.
- Strong understanding of AHCA regulations and survey processes.
- Experience managing dietary restrictions and modified diets across multiple levels of care.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, purchasing, inventory control, staffing, and scheduling.
- Minimum 2+ years of culinary leadership experience required.
- Accredited Culinary Arts degree strongly preferred.
- Strong supervisory and employee development experience.
- Experience in high-volume food service operations.
- ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and menu management systems.
