Over the last year, the Institute has revitalized the Buffalo News building on Washington Street, and we're looking for our founding barista team to help bring the space to life.Do you look at someone and think, I want them to have a great day? Do you believe a genuine how's your day going? and a real smile can change how someone's morning goes?If that sounds like you, you might , coffee is more than a drink; it's how we bring people together, energize the community, and create a moment of genuine hospitality for everyone who walks through the door.What You'll DoDuties for this role include, but are not limited to:Craft espresso-based and brewed coffee drinks to RocketCup's quality standardsOperate and maintain the espresso machine and other caf equipmentPrepare food items and sandwiches for the caf menuStock, receive, and organize inventory and suppliesHandle catering orders for events and offices, including packing, staging, and delivering orders on and near campusGreet guests, take orders, and create a welcoming experienceKeep the caf clean, organized, and running smoothly, following all health and safety guidelinesPitch in wherever the team needs support. This is a hands-on, all-in roleWhat We're Looking ForMust be at least 18 years oldValid driver's license and clean driving record, required for catering deliveriesComfortable lifting up to 40 lbs and standing/moving for a full shiftFood service / hospitality experience highly recommendedStrong communication skills and a genuine interest in peopleAbility to multitask and stay steady during a fast-paced rushMotivation to learn RocketCup's coffee craft and grow with the companyScheduling flexibility, including some nights, weekends, and campus event hours Hours of the cafe will be approximately 7am - 6pm Monday - Friday.
