About the Role:
Candis Inc is looking for a talented and passionate Cook to join our team in Roanoke, VA! Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitor food stock and assist with inventory management and ordering
- Collaborate with Serv-Safe Manager to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation and service
- Properly store and handle ingredients to minimize waste and ensure freshness
- Assist with prep work including chopping, portioning, and marinating ingredients
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Previous experience as a cook, line cook, or in a similar kitchen role preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, and cooking methods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one upon hire
