Prep Cook- Kitchen (Part-Time) Per Hour- San Francisco, Bay Area, CA The Role Are you confident working in a busy kitchen where speed, organisation and attention to detail matter every single shift? Do you enjoy preparing fresh ingredients, supporting a close-knit team and helping create great food that keeps guests coming back? We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook Kitchen team member to join our fast-paced kitchen operations in San Francisco. You'll help keep the kitchen running smoothly from the moment the shift begins. From preparing ingredients and stocking stations to assisting with simple dishes and maintaining high hygiene standards, you'll play an important role in delivering an excellent food experience. This hourly position offers rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and early mornings. Key Responsibilities: Prepare ingredients including vegetables, meats, sauces, salads, and desserts Wash, chop, portion, and organise food items following recipes and kitchen guidelines Set up and restock kitchen workstations before and during service Clean prep areas, wash dishes, and sanitise kitchen surfaces and equipment Receive, label, store, and organise deliveries and kitchen stock Follow food safety, hygiene, and temperature control procedures always Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods Help maintain kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards Assist with packing and shipping materials and products where required The Company McCalls Catering & Events is known for fabulous cuisine, innovative event planning and design, and flawless execution at its Events and Caf Operations. At least 2 years' prep-cook experience A current CA Food Handler certification required Good knife skills and basic cooking knowledge Strong awareness of food hygiene and sanitation The ability to stay calm and organised in a busy environment A dependable approach with good punctuality Physical stamina to stand and walk for long periods and frequent lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 10-15 lbs, occasionally lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 30 lbs, rarely lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 100 lbs (with assistance) A team-focused attitude and strong communication skills Covid Vaccination is required for this role.
