About the Role: The Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in the kitchen, supporting the Culinary Lead in managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This position is essential for maintaining a smooth workflow, overseeing food preparation, and assisting in menu development that aligns Plum Market Foodservice's vision. The Sous Chef will also be responsible for training and mentoring kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Additionally, this role involves monitoring inventory levels and ensuring that all food safety and sanitation standards are met. Ultimately, the Sous Chef contributes significantly to creating an exceptional dining experience for Guests through culinary excellence and innovation. Minimum Qualifications: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a fine dining establishment. Culinary degree or equivalent professional training. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a leadership role within a high-volume kitchen. Certifications in food safety and sanitation. Familiarity with cost control and inventory management. Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service. Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene in accordance with health regulations. Train and mentor the kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
