Job DescriptionJob Description JOB DESCRIPTION The Cashier is the primary point of contact for guests at Fuzzy's Taco Shop, responsible for providing a friendly and welcoming experience while processing orders accurately and efficiently. Cashiers operate the POS system, handle all forms of payment, maintain the front counter and drink station, and ensure every guest leaves satisfied. REPORTS TO Owners/Operating Partners, General Manager, other members of Management Team BASIC JOB TASKS Greet every guest warmly, make eye contact and provide full attention during the ordering process Listen carefully to each order, repeat back to confirm accuracy and enter items precisely into the POS system Ask about any allergies or special requests and notify the kitchen immediately of allergy orders Suggest add-ons or upsells appropriately, including drinks, sides and specials Process cash, credit and debit transactions accurately; count back change correctly for all cash payments Provide accurate wait time estimates and order numbers or names to guests Never leave the cash drawer open or unattended; follow all cash handling procedures at all times Document all voids, refunds and discounts; notify management when drawer exceeds $200 for a cash drop Maintain and stock the front counter, drink station, soda fountain and condiment area throughout the shift Monitor the dining room for customer needs and assist with table bussing during slow periods Address guest concerns professionally, apologizing and offering a resolution; escalate complex complaints to management Complete end-of-day POS reports and cash log as directed by management Complete opening, ongoing and closing duties as assigned and documented on station checklist QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read and speak English to understand guest checks, instructions, warning and safety labels and communicate with others. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Successfully completed Fuzzy's Taco Shop training course work as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Team Member regularly is required to stand for extended periods, walk and talk or hear. The Team Member frequently is required to use hands to operate POS systems, handle cash and interact with objects and controls. The Team Member occasionally is required to stoop or reach.
