Job Summary:
As a Part-Time Cook, you will play a key role in our kitchen by preparing meals in accordance with our menu standards and ensuring a high level of food quality and presentation. You will work in a fast-paced environment alongside a team of culinary professionals, contributing to a positive and collaborative work culture.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Ensure all food preparation and cooking areas are clean and sanitized in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the daily inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service and efficient kitchen operations.
- Monitor and control each dish's quality and taste, making adjustments as necessary.
- Follow proper food handling techniques, ensuring the safety and quality of food.
- Participate in menu development and contribute recipe ideas based on seasonal ingredients.
- Assist in training new kitchen staff as required.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
Qualifications:
- Previous cooking experience in a restaurant or catering environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus but not required.
