Duties/Responsibilities: Kitchen prep (cutting meat and vegetables, preparing food for service, maintenance of event food levels). Percentage of time: 60 Duties/Responsibilities: Prepare custom food for specific outlets within the Center. Percentage of time: 20 Duties/Responsibilities: Keep preparation and work stations clean and organized. Percentage of time: 15 Duties/Responsibilities: Occasionally work with staff to help plate up and move plated banquets meals to event area. Percentage of time: 5 Classification Title: Temporary Service/Maintenance FLSA: Non-Exempt FTE: 1.0 Position Summary: Position will assist with preparation and presentation of food for the Savannah Room, Courtyard Café, Training Table, and or Banquets (AM/PM). Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies : Thorough knowledge of the materials methods and equipment used in preparing food on a large scale. Ability to maintain records of output, quantities of ingredients used, and supplies on hand. Knowledge of a large variety of food recipes. Knowledge of food values, menu planning and uses for left-over food. Ability to work from written menus and standard recipes. Considerable knowledge of health hazards in food prep and service and of effective precautionary measures. Ability to handle knives and other sharp items in a safe manner. Ability to communicate effectively and follow direction from supervisor. Ability to work long hours while standing and under conditions of high temperatures.
