Line cooks are responsible for providing the highest quality of food to the guests. Responsibilities and Duties: Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils. Cook and package batches of food, such as hamburgers and fried chicken, which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold. Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas. Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles. Read food order slips or receive verbal instructions as to food required by the patron and prepare and cook food according to instructions. Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity. Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases. Practice safe food handling techniques in food preparation and storage. Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. All other duties assigned by management. Qualifications Qualifications and Skills: High School diploma or equivalent 1-year line cook experience. Must be punctual, dependable, and flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work under pressure and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Physical Demands: Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours), with some walking. Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50lbs.
