Don's Prepared Foods is the leading manufacturer on the East Coast of prepared gourmet deli salads, gourmet cream cheese spreads, dips, entrée's and more. Don's is a family-owned business and manufactures over 130 products spanning across its three brands Don's Salads, Melanie's Medleys and Artisan Deli. We are seeking a Cook to join the Production department at our Schwenksville, PA food manufacturing plant. This is an hourly, non-exempt position that starts at 3AM from Monday-Friday. The ideal candidate is a dynamic team player who will help Don's achieve our mission of providing high-quality prepared product to our customers. Job responsibilities: Start time for the Cook position is 3am, Monday-Friday (must be flexible with end times) . Make sure all ingredients that require cooking, blanching, and chilling are done in a manner that protects food safety, meets all Critical Control Points (CCP's), and make sure they are documented properly. Prepare, cook/chill and properly label the food ingredients used in the production of the Don's Salads product line. Follow internal recipes and production procedures to maintain the quality. Defrost all ingredients necessary for the following days production. Thoroughly clean and sanitize the kitchen especially for allergens between cooks and at the end of the day. Ensure all USDA, FDA, SQF and HACCP regulations are fulfilled daily. Ensure a clean and safe environment Communicate with Production management team Competencies: Ability to read, write, comprehend, in Englishand follow recipes and understand proportions. Must have cooking knowledge and terminology. Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP). Ability to follow recipes and understand portions. Ability to weigh and read a scale accurately. Grill Cook Full-Time $17.00/Hour Open Availability Required (Kitchen closes at 10:00PM) Location: Warehouse Tavern & Grill by Exploria Resorts - Pocono Mountain Villas 124 Golf Dr , East Stroudsburg, PA 18302 Job Summary: The Line Cook will report directly to the Food and Beverage Manager and is responsible for preparing and cooking food for patrons. Line cooks are responsible for providing the highest quality of food to the guests. Responsibilities and Duties: Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils. Cook and package batches of food, such as hamburgers and fried chicken, which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold. Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas. Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles. Read food order slips or receive verbal instructions as to food required by the patron and prepare and cook food according to instructions. Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity. Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases. Practice safe food handling techniques in food preparation and storage. Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. All other duties assigned by management. Qualifications Qualifications and Skills: High School diploma or equivalent 1-year line cook experience. Must be punctual, dependable, and flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work under pressure and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Physical Demands: Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours), with some walking. Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50lbs. Ability to speak, hear and see close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to use hands and fingers in grasping, pinching, chopping, pulling, and lifting motions associated with preparing and cooking products using knives, utensils, and cookware. Continue use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
